Wise Consulting and Training (WISE) is a regionally recognized environmental consulting and industrial hygiene firm specializing in building science, and building related environmental issues. Tom Wise, the president and founder of WISE, has been involved in the environmental industry since the late 1980's, when he stablished an environmental division within an engineering firm. Since that time, Mr. Wise has devoted his time exclusively to environmental consulting and training, supervising the completion of over 4,000 environmental consulting projects, and over 600 accredited enviromental training courses. At one point he held licensure in nine states.

The firm WISE is a mid-sized environmental firm with nine full and part time employees, and trainers. The mission of the firm is to: "Provide exceptional personal service in the area of environmental, and industrial hygiene consulting on projects of all sizes." Our personal service includes emergency access to a consultant at all times and providing accredited training to assist our clients in maintaining regulatory compliance and reduced liability.

The identification of environmental issues and their subsequent regulations have been constantly changing since the 1980's, and most organizations simply do not have the expertise to totally understand all of their environmental issues and needs. Our firm employs professionals with experience and educational backgrounds who enable us to provide accurate environmental assessments (surveys and risk assessments), and effective, informed solutions in the form of recommendations, remediation or compliance plans, and project designs. Our constant contact with researchers, regulators, and facility managers ensures our ability to find the best possible solutions to issues.

Our firm has the credentials, experience, and performance record necessary to maintain professional liability insurance for all areas of environmental consulting, including mold related services. In a time when many firms are having trouble getting liability insurance, our limits have been increased to meet the requirements of some of our larger clients.

At the foundation of our organization, is a core belief in personal integrity. In other words, "Serving others in the very well manner we would wish to be served ourselves."

WISE services include all areas of indoor or building-related environmental and industrial hygiene consulting including: Asbestos, Lead-Based Paint (LBP), Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), including microbiological contaminants, chemical and radon, and Environmental Site Assessments. Asbestos and Lead-Based Paint projects following industry regulations continue to be our largest market. With over ten years experience on fungal projetcs, and our extensive experience in developing, and supervising successful remediation projects, fungal (mold) related projects become our next largest service area. We also provide services relating to underground storage tanks and chemical contaminants such as mercury, lead, and PCBs.

Since February 1997, WISE has consulted on over 2,500 projects and has conducted more than 350 environmental classes from a curriculum catalog of 34 available courses. Recent projects include asbestos abatement on two projects for public facilities budgeted for over one million dollars. The firm is also providing industrial hygiene services for two major hospitals and school districts statewide on an ongoing basis. WISE has completed investigations for fungal contamination and species identification at more than 900 sites. The principal consultants of the firm developed and copyrighted a Fungal Remediation Plan that incorporates the recommended approaches of industry leading organizations into an easy to read and understandable remediation plan.

WISE service includes access to principal consultants 24 hours a day for emergencies. Extended daily schedules or weekend work is available, depending on project specific demands.
